Alec is not a writer. He dislikes writing and almost all writing he does is school related. He has a hard time writing on command. He likes to think out the entire story before writing it down which makes quickwrites difficult. However, he does keep a jurnal which he writes in if he has a particularly interesting thought. These jurnal entries are often only semi-ordered spewings of thoughts that flat-out ignore things like spelling and punctuation. But if historians can decifer stuff written in the 1700's, when even educated people like George Washington spelled their own names multiple different ways and always rote in unintelligable cursive, then my jurnal will still be usefull to my biographers.
To be a good writer one must have several traits. The first is to actually know how to form words out of letters, sentences out of words, paragraphs out of sentences, ect. This can be learned in school. However, the other three traits cannot. These traits are having interesting thoughts, being able to make them make sence on paper, and actualy wanting to write. Alec falls a bit short in several of these catagories. He has terrible spelling, which is a failier of catagory one. Wile he does have interesting thoughts, he sometimes has trouble getting them to make sence to others. And most importantly, Alec just dosn't enjoy writing.
